I love changing up my make up bag heading into the Autumn. I reach for warm tones more and like to keep things light and hydrating to stop my skin drying out too much. I thought I’d put together a wee post on the products I’ve found myself reaching for over the past few weeks.
I’ve also got an autumn/winter skincare swaps post in the pipeline currently and hope I’ll have it up on the blog next week so keep an eye out for that.
My skin is particularly dry in the autumn and winter due to all the temperature changes from being in and outside so I like to be light handed with foundation to prevent any flakiness. Charlotte Tilbury’s Brightening Youth Glow is a must before foundation, it hydrates and soothes my skin as well as minimises redness, it’s the perfect base. I then use a mix of Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Foundation & Hollywood Flawless Filter. The flawless filter sheers out my foundation and also adds a subtle glow to my skin.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze & Glow is my go to for every season I’m not going to lie, I don’t think I’ll ever find a bronzer I like more. I love to change up my blush though and have found myself reaching for Hourglass Ambient Lighting Mood Exposure a lot. It’s a beautiful plum & nude combination with a little bit of a glow. It can be applied nice and subtly or built up depending on what you like.
I spent most of last autumn wearing the Nars Voyageur mini palette in Copper and as soon as the weather started to change this year I was reaching for it again straight away. It contains 6 warm tone shades absolutely perfect for autumn, 3 matte and 3 shimmer/foil shades. This palette is made for everyday makeup and is a makeup bag must have at this time of year!
Charlotte Tilbury’s Very Victoria is one of my go to autumn lip colours, it’s a browny toned pink and compliments the eyeshadows above beautifully. I also love JK Magic from the Hot Lips 2 collection, it’s also a deep nude with a lovely creamy formula.
My final fav for this time of year is Pixi Beauty’s Fairy Lights. Autumn/Winter seems like the only appropriate time of year to wear glitter in the day time so I like to make the most of it! Pixi’s Fairy Lights are a liquid glitter that can be applied over eyeshadow, they dry down and create a beautiful sparkle. My favourite shade is Rose Gold.

The Pixi Beauty Fairy Lights looks so beautiful but don’t mind me I wear glitter all the time, I’ve never tried the pixi one though
