Once again a little combined Squish post, my 19 and 20 Week update. (I feel like I’m always running behind?!) Before I get started on the update can we please just take a second to appreciate the utterly adorable giraffe cardigan and hat I picked up for Squish in the Next sale?! I am head over heels (and only a tiny bit sorry that I’m forcing my giraffe obsession on Squish!) I also managed to get them at half price so I’m very chuffed with my little bargains, I really wish the next 19 Weeks would hurry up so I can dress my little Squish in all the adorable outfits I can’t help myself buying. Anyway onto my symptoms!
Symptoms
The best thing ever (or atleast it seems like it) has been no more back pain! Or at least minimal back pain compared to what I’ve been used to. I have been treated to a brand new mattress that I’ll have a post up on in the next few weeks all about but the mattress along with my Summer Infant pregnancy pillow and my Carriwell support belt have been really helping.
Another amazing thing that I’m still not used to is the fact Squish has been kicking loads. I absolutely adore feeling all the little kicks, I’ll be minding my own business and then I’ll feel little pokes in my tummy and honestly it’s so lovely and reassuring. I’m sure as Squish gets bigger and starts kicking under my rib cage I’ll be moaning about it but for now I’m going to enjoy feeling my little one move.
I don’t want to jinx it but I’ve definitely been needing to pee less this week. Still a lot more than before I was pregnant but it’s been much more manageable which has been refreshing.
I’ve saved the best until last though, I finally had my 20 Week scan! Squish is growing perfectly and the midwives are happy with our progress. It was so amazing watching Squish wiggle around on the screen, I even got to see a little thumbs up (I like to believe that was Squish’s way of saying ‘Mumma I’m okay in here’.) I also stuck to my guns and didn’t find out Squish’s gender at the scan, this little one is staying a surprise until d day!
Bumpie
From the look of my ever more obvious bump you can tell Squish is growing plenty! I now have my official due date and although I know most babies don’t actually arrive on their due date it’s still lovely to have something officially on the calendar. I also booked some birthing and breastfeeding classes that I can’t wait to start going to!

So enjoying reading your updates and glad to hear your back pain is easing up. I didn’t realise a due date isn’t set until this late in the pregnancy – must be movies skewing my understanding of it! Huge congrats and wishing you lots of sleep and rest in the run up to Squish arriving!

That little hat is bloody adorable.. 😍 My nephew is nearly two months old now, and they honestly change so much in the first few months, it’s hard to believe! I don’t have children myself, but I loved seeing my sisters twenty week scan and I’m sure all your friends and family loved seeing yours as well! Such an exciting time, that’s for sure 🙊
