Since having Theo my beauty routines have taken a serious knock! He hates being put down with a passion so all my routines need to be super quick and easy. Getting my makeup done at the moment is a real mammoth task so I’ve been focusing on my hair.
I need my blow dry to last as long as possible through the week, finding the time to wash my hair more than once a week is a real luxury at the moment! These are a few of my lifesaving hair products helping me to look like I have some sort of grasp on this parenting thing!
The Andrew Barton Professional Travel Dryer is my current blow dry weapon of choice! It’s lightweight and compact so can be quickly tucked away at the side of my mirror but still packs the punch of a full size hair dryer.
The handle on this dryer folds in too so it’s been perfect for popping in and out of my hospital bag when I was readmitted with an infection!
It has two different spends and temperature settings, I try and dry my hair on the lower setting to minimise damage but it’s great to have the faster speed and higher temperature if I really need to get my hair dried fast so I can attend to Theo!
Umberto Giannini is a brand Gemma has been ranting and raving about for months. Their products were on offer in Boots a month or so ago so I thought it was about time I picked some products up and gave them a go! Not only is the packaging to die for but the products I’ve tried are amazing! Shower in a Bottle is a dry shampoo foam. It has the most amazing smell and I love that it’s not all fumey like usual dry shampoos! (Amazing the things you start to pay attention to once you have a baby!) You simply pop some foam on your hand and scrunch it into the roots of your hair. It freshens your hair up beautifully (and as a new mum I can assure you anything that gets me an extra day or two out of my hair has a big thumbs up from me!)
I’ve also been trying out the Umberto Giannini Smoothing Milk. The aim of the milk is to control frizz, helping to give you the perfect blow dry! The milk is also humidity proof, provides heat protection and smooths your hair. Like the dry shampoo foam it’s super easy to use, pour a little onto your hand and use your finger tips to run it through towel damp hair, comb your hair through and then blow dry like normal. Whenever I use this milk my hair looks considerably shinier and smoother and my blow dry lasts so much better throughout the week. It takes seconds to pop on after a shower and makes a world of difference!

P is the exact same about being put down but trust me it gets easier as they nap a bit deeper and longer, a quick shower routine becomes a fine art as a new mom haha! you’re doing an amazing job! X
