With everyone now on lockdown due to Coronavirus and a lot of the public having to work from home it’s time to seize the opportunity and make the most of having the time to put into your skincare routine. You may come out of lockdown with awful roots, majorly in need of waxing and a manicure but that doesn’t stop you having beautiful glowing skin by the end of it!
AM Skincare
Use a gentle either cream or gel cleanser in the morning. My favourites are Pai’s Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser or Ren’s Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk. Follow by an acid toner either everyday if you have normal/combo skin or every other day if you have sensitive skin. Acid toners in the morning are normally risky as you’ll be going out into the sun afterwards making your skin more at risk of damage from UV rays. If you’re working from home you’re not likely to be going out anywhere so make the most of it and try out some new acid toners like Pixi’s Glow Tonic or Alpha-H Liquid Gold.
Follow this with a serum and lightweight moisturiser. You don’t need to add an SPF unless you’ll be outside for a walk or working near windows. SPF can clog up your pores so enjoy the break!
Daytime
Enjoy being makeup free if you’d like to and make the most of spritzing you’re face with a light mist to keep skin hydrated. Omorovicza’s Queen of Hungary mist is a particularly favourite of mine or a nice rose water spray.
If you’ve got the time during the day you can also use the opportunity to pop on a face mask (as long as you don’t have any video calls to make with colleagues or clients!)
PM Skincare
Cleanse or double cleanse depending on if you were wearing makeup or not. If you’re double cleansing I recommend an oil based cleanser to start with like Clinique’s Take The Day Off Balm to remove your makeup and then a cream or gel cleanser for your second cleanse.
Treat your skin to a face mask at least 3 times a week focusing on whatever different skin concerns apply to you like dehydration, blemishes or redness. I particularly love Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask for hydration or Omorovicza’s Deep Cleansing Mud Mask for clearing congested and blemish prone skin.
Finally apply your serum and a rich night cream. I’ve been recently trying out IT Cosmetics new Confidence In Your Beauty Sleep. It has an almost jelly like texture and smooths onto skin beautifully, locking in moisture. The lavender scent also helps to relax you before bedtime. It’s also packed full of anti ageing properties to minimise fine lines, wrinkles, dryness, dullness and loss of firmness.

ahhhh! i’m really trying not to spend money, however, keep finding myself looking at skincare..i think you’re going to have made me go and place an order! haha
What better time to see when something works when you can just let your skin breathe! Really excited to try some new things, I just need to choose what 🙂 Stay safe!

I didn’t wear make up every day anyway but I’m really enjoying having no pressure at ALL to put make up on right now and I definitely have noticed I’ve had far less breakouts since this started! I’ve also been taking the time and effort to do a proper skincare routine day and night, which is helping too! It’s also a nice bit of self care for a stressful time 🙂 Fab post! xxx
