I had intended to have this post up the other week but life with a baby happened as always! Veganuary is over for another year and I loved following lots of different bloggers experience on social media. I already have a dairy free diet due to allergies and don’t like the taste of meat so going vegan food wise is pretty easy for me. This Veganuary I thought I’d set myself the goal of using only vegan skincare and makeup and I found some great products along the way!
Antipodes is a brand I’d tried a little at the beginning of last year when Gemma kindly got me some minis for secret santa. As much as I enjoyed them I kind of forgot about them at the back of my drawer. Antipodes got in contact at the beginning of Veganuary and asked if I’d like to try some products so I jumped at the chance to revisit the brand and I’m so glad I did!
The Joyful Hand and Body Cream has been one of my favourite finds and I’ve actually gone and purchased a second tube so I can have one by my kitchen sink and one by my bathroom sink! It’s so smooth and smells incredible. It sinks into my hands and skin super quick meaning I can get on with my day to day life without worrying about sticky hands. Scented with summer berries and South Pacific hibiscus flower along with avocado oil this handcream is such a find! Dry hands is something I’ve been really struggling with as a new mum due to all the nappy changes so this hand cream has been a saviour!
I’ve been trialing two facial oils from the brand, the Apostle Skin Brightening Serum and the Divine Facial Oil. Both work very well in my opinion for dehydrated and sensitive skin and were a welcome addition to my winter skincare line up. The serum targets dullness and uneven skin tone. It has a fruity scent and a watery consistency. Within a few days of use I could notice a difference in how bright my skin looked so this gets a thumbs up from me. The oil, scented of Jasmine and Orange, is full of so many amazing ingredients including Avocado, Rosehip and Macadamia Nut oil. It gave my skin a huge boost of hydration without causing my skin to breakout.
The final product I’ve been giving a go is the Halo Skin Brightening Facial Mud Mask. When I opened this for the first time I was super surprised at the lovely, fresh scent! The mud is very lightweight but when you massage it into your skin there’s a slightly gritty texture to help exfoliate your skin. It’s recommended you apply a thick layer of this mask and then leave it to set for 15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. The mask does dry down so it can make your skin feel a little tight in those last minutes before washing it off. It settled into all of my pores around my nose (much to my horror!) but it was nice to see the mask was working deep into my skin to cleanse away any nasties! Whenever I washed the mask off I was amazed by how glowy my skin looked and the mask had cleared nearly all the blackheads around my nose. As someone with dry skin I don’t think I could use this more than once a week and it was vital I followed this mask with an oil and moisturiser so that my skin didn’t get too dry. It’s great for a deep cleanse whenever your skin is feeling congested.

I’ve never tried anything from Antipodies (still!) but I love the sound of the mud mask, I need something to clear out my blackheads! x
