Who knew House of Fraser Belfast had a secret little spa?! When an email popped into my inbox inviting me to try out one of Clarins Signature Facial’s I jumped at the chance! A pamper day was definitely in order.
The Signature Facial is one of quite a few treatments offered at Clarins Skin Spa. They also offer massages, body treatments and waxing.
I arrived in store at House of Fraser Belfast and headed straight to the Clarins counter. I was greeted by the lovely Emma, my therapist for the day. She led me off towards a little seating area set in from the main store floor that I’d never even noticed before! After sitting going through a few of the usual spa health and safety questions which Emma filled in for me on the iPad I was whisked away to a gorgeous, sound proofed, air conditioned treatment room.
Emma showed me where I could pop my clothes and shopping bags and then left me to undress and get comfortable on the bed under the towels.
The facial starts with a mini consultation to discuss any skin concerns and what you’d like to get out of the treatment. There’s 5 options for the facial, the Lifting Replenisher, Power Firmer, Radiance Reviver, Moisture Quencher or Skin Soother. To read a little more about each type of facial you can check out the Skin Spa Treatment Menu.
Emma decided the Moisture Quencher was most suited to my skin but as I also have very sensitive skin she mixed and matched a few products from the Skin Soother selection too.
The treatement was an hour and 25 minutes of pure bliss! It absolutely flew by, I was so relaxed. I was anxious that my skin would react to having so many new products on my face but every single product felt incredible. My face was cleansed, toned, exfoliated and moisturised using a multitude of different serums, creams and face masks. My shoulders and chest were massaged, exfoliated and moisturised, I left feeling like a new woman! Below is a completely filter free selfie of my beautifully soft, glowing face after the treatment and honestly the photo doesn’t do justice to quite how beautiful my skin looked.
Don’t panic if you’re popping in during a busy day and don’t want to walk out into the centre of Belfast makeup free, Emma did offer to add some natural makeup for me after my treatment, I just opted not to as I wanted to enjoy the soft glowy look a little longer.
After your treatments your therapist will email you a list of all products used during the facial as well as any other recommendations for your skin type so you can pick up some products and continue to treat your skin at home. I fell in love with the Multi Active range used during my treatment. I’ve been using the Multi Active Jour SPF20* day cream and Multi Active Nuit* religiously since my facial and my skin has never looked better. Both creams are soothing and hydrating and work so well with my skin. I’m always anxious that moisturisers will cause my skin to breakout but I’ve had no reaction whatsoever.
Emma also advised I try out the Tonic body range and I am so glad she did! The range consists of a super luxurious shower gel, a body balm, body exfoliator and a body oil. All the products have firming properties and the most luxurious, spa worthy scent. Emma thought they’d work really well for me during and after pregnancy due to the firming properties. I adore how luxurious the scent is, I feel like I’m at a spa every time I get a shower!

Sounds like absolute bliss! You can definitely see the glow on your face in your picture. I’m just gutted that there’s no Clarins pamper sessions near me, closest is 4 hours away!

That’s so frustrating there isn’t one closer to you! It’s definitely worth the trip though, maybe a birthday treat?? Busy mums deserve a facial every once in a while!

This sounds such a relaxing experience, if only there was one closer to you. I have sensitive skin too and always get on well with Clarins.

Hey I know this comment is a little late but I enjoyed your post and I am booked in for one of the signature facials next week! I’m just wondering do you get your money back in products or free products and stuff just the facial is £70? Xx
palegirlrambling says
Oh how exciting for you! I really hope you enjoy your facial. No the cost of the facial isn’t redeemable on products, you will be recommended the best products for your skin type during/after your facial which you can then purchase if you wish. I know £70 seems like a lots of money but trust me I think the treatment is worth every penny! It’s the best facial to date that I’ve had and I’ve been back for a further treatment since because I enjoy it so much. I’d love to know what you think after yours!

I think it’s really cool that they mixed the two facials so it’s more suited to your skin type. I also get anxious when trying new products on my face as most things don’t agree with it and I end up red all over. But what can you do? It’s the curse of having very sensitive skin.
Happy to read that you had a lovely experience. Your skin looks great btw! x
