If you’ve been reading my pregnancy updates you’ll know how much I’ve been struggling with back pain. It gets me down during the day but particularly at night when I’m exhausted and really want to curl up and fall peacefully asleep. I’ve tried lots of different things to help ease the pains and wondered if a new mattress would help. You’re meant to replace your mattress every 8 years and honestly I can’t remember when I last got a new mattress so a new one was definitely needed!
Leesa kindly sent me a mattress to review to see if it would help make me a little more comfortable at night.
Ordering your mattress is super easy, you just select your mattress size (Leesa have both UK and EU options) pop in your address and your Leesa mattress with arrive vacuum packaged in a box, on your doorstep within 5-7 working days.
To unpack your mattress you simply take it out of the box, place it rolled up on your bed frame, remove the plastic wrap and watch (in amazement) as your vacuum packed mattress expands. The mattress takes 24 hours to fully expand but it can be slept on before this. I’d advise opening your mattress first thing in the morning when you get up, then you can leave it all day to expand and it’ll be super comfy by bed time!
The Leesa mattress is similar to my old memory foam mattress in terms of firmness rather than the feeling of a sprung mattress. What I love though is it’s much squishier on top. This squishy feeling is due to Leesa’s special 3 layer mix. The first layer is 5cm of Avena foam, the second, 5cm of Memory Foam and then finally 15cm of support foam. The special Avena foam is also breathable so you’ve no need to panic about over heating on the Leesa Mattress. I wasn’t a fan of my old mattress and always complained it was too firm so was delighted with the arrival of my Leesa mattress. I’ve slept more since I got this mattress than I’ve slept in months it’s so comfy so the mattress is a huge hit!
Leesa offer a 100 night risk free trial so you can truly test your mattress and have peace of mind that you won’t be wasting your money on something you don’t find comfortable. If you don’t like it (though I’ll be very surprised if you’d don’t!) Leesa will pick it up and either donate it to a charitable foundation or recycle it. (And you’ll get your money back of course!) They also donate 1 mattress for every ten sold to a charitable organisations tackling homelessness and human trafficking and plant a tree for each and every mattress sold. I really appreciate companies with a charity aspect.
Leesa have kindly given me a code so you can get £80 off your own Leesa Mattress. Just click the link! (and trust me you’ll be crazy not to try one!)
The all important question though, has it helped my back pain?! YES! I honestly have slept like a log since I got this mattress (minus the need to pee all the time, but that can’t be helped!) I am so pleased to have got this mattress, I know I’ll be spending lots of time in bed the more my pregnancy progresses and of course once Squish gets here so it’s so nice to be ultra comfy and get as much sleep as possible before the inevitable sleepless nights. My advice for any pregnant mum to be is to treat yourself to a Leesa mattress, you will not be disappointed! There’s no better to time to treat yourself that when you’re pregnant!
Hey I’ve just had a baby 4 weeks ago and trust me anything you can find to help you sleep, you should! The sleep deprivation is real!! Love that they donate mattresses.

We have a few options like Leesa in the United States too! I feel your pain with back discomfort during pregnancy. We are in the same boat. I hope the mattress helps. XOXO.

This sounds like the perfect mattress. They are so expensive that it’s so important to have the right one and memory foam is something I’ve always looked into!

I didn’t know you’re meant to replace your mattress every 8 years! I have never heard of a mattress like this one. I hope it helps with your back pain! I think l would be a little scared of trying it out but l would probably do it! I’ve never heard of watching your own mattress expand!

I’m sorry to hear about the back pain but I’m glad that the mattress has helped ease it! And watching a mattress unfold in front of your eyes is seriously one of the most fun things to watch xD

It’s amazing that this has helped your back pain! I have back pain – not pregnancy related – but I know how awful it can be! Great that they have such a long trial period as well. Sound like a fab brand! I’m definitely in need of a new mattress sometime soon xxx
I love that this company donates mattresses and recycle too❤️ I have problems with my discs in my back and it all started in pregnancy and it took me ages to find a mattress that helped, I will def be having a look at these for next time it needs replacing!

Your review is very timely because although our current mattress is only three years old, it’s not comfortable and both Alan and I have back pain. Mine started in late pregnancy when I slipped a disc but it wasn’t diagnosed so I acquired sciatica and a lot of scar tissue. The sciatica’s gone but the scar tissue will always be there, as will my backache! So in my rambling way, thank you very much for such a positive and encouraging review, I will definitely look at Leesa and see if I can find a mattress that might work for us. The 100 day trial is also very reassuring! x

I’ve heard so many good things about these mattresses and I’m glad that it’s all confirmed by the next review I read. Great review x
Ohh this looks like an absolutely amazing mattress! I replaced my mattress about two years ago after hating my first mattress and it was the best decision I ever made! It’s such a welcome change haha! Also just wanted to say I rarely comment on many blog posts but I am so excited for you and your beautiful little family, loving your updates about Squish!

Ohhhh I remember that desperation to find comfort in pregnancy well! Anything that aids you with that, grab with both hands! I like the sound of these, and have heard good things. The 100 day trial is very reassuring x
I love that they donate mattresses! Sounds like a great company
