If you’ve been reading PaleGirlRambling for a while you’ll know what a massive Charlotte Tilbury fan I am. I have a pretty big collection of products and can always find an excuse to add more! I previously had a full size pot of Charlotte’s Magic Cream and then back before Christmas was kindly sent a little travel size pot in the Beauty Icons set and fell in love all over again. Charlotte Tilbury kindly restocked my full size Magic Cream along with sending me the Magic Night Cream to try out to help me revamp my tired, dry and flaky pregnant skin!
Magic Cream
Charlotte’s Magic Cream has SPF 15 which in my opinion is a vital thing for a day cream to have. Sun damage is one of the major factors in premature ageing of the skin and my ghostly pale skin could do with all the spf to prevent this! The Magic Cream is definitely a thicker consistency moisturiser, perfect for the colder winter months when everyone’s skin is at its driest due to the cold weather outside and the dry heat from central heating inside. It’s hydrating without causing oiliness and breakouts. I apply this under foundation and it sinks in quickly so there’s no waiting around to finish the rest of your makeup which I really like. I also like that it takes away some of the redness in my skin when I’m using it without makeup.
Magic Night Cream
I expected Charlotte’s Magic Night Cream to be pretty similar to the Magic Cream so I was really surprised when I opened the pot to see a more thick serum like texture rather than a cream. The Magic Night Cream is described as a ‘balm-elixir’. While the day cream is white, this elixir has a more skin like colour. It’s definitely much more oily and a lot thicker than the Magic Cream. You couldn’t get away with using this during the day as it takes a lot of time to sink into your skin as well as leaving a layer of serum on your face. That being said, for an intensive Night Cream it’s amazing, you can tell it’s working all through the night and after only a few uses my skin was definitely much more hydrated.
It seems strange to ‘swatch’ skincare products but I just wanted to show the major difference in texture these two creams have. Obviously the top is the original Magic Cream and the bottom is the Magic Night Cream.
I hope you enjoyed these mini reviews. Charlotte Tilbury moisturisers are a real treat for anyone’s skincare routine!
You can really see how much thicker the night cream is from your swatches! It looks like it would be so gorgeous for nighttime! Xx
