2018 is going to be a big year for me and I want to get as much done as possible! The boyfriend and I have already booked a trip to Italy for March which we’re super excited for already. I haven’t seen much of the world and would love to travel and see more places further afield from my little home island of Northern Ireland. It got me thinking about other places I’d love to visit and tick off my bucket list so here’s my current top ten places!
10. Mexico
Mexico looks like a stunning but insanely interesting part of the world and I’d love to visit! Full of beach resorts on one side and incredible ruins to explore there’s something for everyone! You can also go whale watching which has been top of my wish list for years! There’s so many stunning luxury rentals in Mexico you’ll be spoilt for choice for where to stay!
9. Iceland
My youngest sister went to Iceland on a school trip last year and ever since I saw her photos and heard all about it I’ve been dying to go! Although she didn’t get a chance to see the Northern lights (something that’s been on my bucket list for the past few years) she did get to visit the Blue Lagoon and loved the experience! I’d also love to go whale watching here too if Tim and I get the chance to visit Iceland I think it would be an incredible experience (though obviously much colder than whale watching in Mexico!)
8. Scotland
This a little less far afield but still somewhere I’d love to visit this year. I’ve been to Scotland a few times but I really want to go with Tim and take him to visit my family and show him my favourite parts. It’s super easy to get to as well as we can just get the ferry across and drive to whatever we’d like to see. Tim also really wants to go to Scotland so he can attend the Royal Highland Show.
7. Australia
One of my closet blogging friends Paige lives in Australia and she’s getting married this year! I’d absolutely love to go and see her say ‘I Do’ to her best friend. She has a very similar taste to me and knows exactly how she’d like her wedding to look and I would love to see all the decor and ideas in real life. I’ve already had a little sneak peak of her colour scheme and flower arrangements and let me tell you they’re beautiful!
6. New Zealand
New Zealand has been top of Tim’s travel list since he visited as a kid. He loves the place so much I think if I gave him the option to move for good he’d do it! Tim’s twin is also moving to New Zealand this year and I know he’d love if we could come visit! I’d love to see all the parts of New Zealand Tim visited as a child.
5. America / Canada
I’d be crazy if I didn’t add the land of Sephora to my travel wish list! It is my dream to go to an American or Canadian Sephora. I’m desperate to stock up on more goodies from my favourite brand Bite Beauty. (I wish they’d just start shipping to the UK!) I have a list the length of my arm of products I’d love to get my hands on in Sephora along with placing a little Colourpop order while I’m there!
4. Dubai
Dubai is purely on my list from the amount of stunning photos I’ve seen online! I also came across a hotel with huge aquarium windows so you can lie in bed and watch a pile of stunning rainbow coloured fish swim past your window. A luxury that you don’t really need in your hotel room but it’d be pretty cool!
3. Sorrento, Italy
Although Tim and I have already booked Italy for this year, we’re heading towards the snow and mountains for some skiing so Sorrento is still on my list. I’ve always stared enviously at beautiful photos of Sorrento’s streets and the ocean and sunshine, it looks like such a beautiful part of the world.
2. Lisbon, Portugal
My sister moved to Portugal in September and has been travelling around seeing the sights. She’s absolutely loving it (and the lovely warm weather!) so I’d really like to go and visit her and let her show me around all of her favourite places. Her photos have made me so jealous. She’s also been taking part in ‘fly yoga’ which I’m dying to have a go at! It’s looks like it’d be so much fun as well as a great way to work out.
1. Santorini, Greece
Santorini has been top of my travel bucket list for as long as I can remember! I watched ‘Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants’ as a child and fell in love with the look of the island and have been desperate to visit ever since. The beautiful white buildings and pastel doors and bright blue roofs are totally Instagram worthy, can you just imagine the photo opportunities?! I’d love to go cliff diving too like the did in Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants along with scuba diving. I’d also hop on a ferry and head over to the island of Zante and see all the little baby turtles hatch!
I can indeed confirm that NZ is wonderful 😀
Haha, this is a great list! I’m always interested in hearing about people’s travel bucket lists! I would love to see Iceland and Greece as well!
Oooohh this has just made me want to go on and start planning all the holidays! I originally was meant to go to San Francisco this year but unfortunately plans fell through and so far I haven’t really had a look at anywhere else. My brother is due to start his years placement in June over in Guernsey so I’m hoping to get a little week away there and maybe some long weekend holidays with friends and with my mum. 🙂
I really want to travel more in 2018! There are so many countries on my bucket list that you’ve covered too, but I don’t think that I could afford to do them all in ten years, let alone one.. 😂🤷🏼♀️ I definitely want to visit Santorini for my 21st in September! 🙊
This is a great list! Sephora really is wonderful, so I hope you get the chance to go to one!
Wow this is an amazing list! I always have travel on my new years resolutions but then the year goes by so fast there never seems to be enough of it.
I’d love to go to New Zealand Rach, it’s meant to be amazing there!! x
