I’ve been a big fan of makeup cloths for years. I use my Jane Iredale Magic Mitt everyday so I jumped at the chance to try this out. Removeil * is a cleansing and makeup removing cloth. It’s double sided. The grey side removes makeup (including waterproof products) while the silver fibre side gently exfoliates skin.
I’ve tested this in three different ways to see if it really works.
Firstly I used this to take off my normal everyday makeup. I was wearing Mac Mineralize foundation, so medium coverage and only had a bit of mascara on so not a crazy amount of eye makeup. I dampened my face and wet the cloth using warm water as the instructions say. Honestly my makeup came off really easily! The only area where I had to apply a little bit of pressure was to my mascara but it all came off really well. I then flipped the cloth over and used the silver exfoliating side. It was so gentle but I could really see it working! I didn’t use any other cleanser as I wanted to really test this out. I just applied my usual night time skin care and went to sleep. When I woke up in the morning my skin felt incredibly clean and there was no mascara residue at all! (something that seriously frustrates me, no matter how hard I scrub there’s normally some mascara left in the morning)
The second time I used this cloth I had much heavier makeup on. I had Mac Pro Longwear Waterproof foundation on and a lot of eye makeup so the cloth was definitely being put to the test. Again I dampened my face and the cloth like the instructions state and followed the same method as above. Removing my makeup with the grey side and then exfoliating with the silver fibre side. My makeup again came off with ease, you wouldn’t have guessed that I had waterproof foundation on! I put my nighttime skincare on and in the morning my face still felt squeaky clean so it really does remove waterproof makeup!
The final test was to use a cleanser after removing my makeup with this cloth purely because I wanted to see if any residue came off on the cotton pad. No surprise though it was completely clear. I really like this cloth, I love that the side for removing makeup is grey so it doesn’t show up makeup and look grubby. The silver exfoliating side is so gentle but does a really great job.
The cloth is really easy to clean, use just use some warm water and a gentle soap after you’ve used it and all the makeup washes straight out. It should last around 6 months with proper care before it’s past it’s best and needs replaced.
You can buy Removeil direct from their website with free shipping for £24.99. Some may say this is on the pricey side for a cloth but baring in mind this cloth replaces the need to buy a cleanser or an exfoliator and it lasts for at least 6 months, I feel like this is a really good investment and something well worth giving a go!
This has become my go to after events or nights out when I’m super tired and don’t have the energy for my full skincare routine. It’s the perfect lazy girl tool and I 100% recommend giving one of these a go, you will not be disappointed!

Ooooh, this sounds wonderful! I’ve actually stopped wearing mascara at all because it’s so hard to get it all off at the end of the day, so this product sounds like a godsend. And I love that it’s reusable! Those disposable wipes make me feel so guilty.

This sounds amazing. I’ve never heard of this before. I hate waking up to see mascara remains under my eyes although I removed my makeup the night before. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing product. Definitely going to check it out. xo

This is pretty cool, I’m surprised it actually managed to take off the heavier makeup no problems! I think this would be brilliant for when my skin is a little sensitive and overwhelmed.

Oooh interesting. I’ve used remover towelettes, but I’ve never heard of a cloth like this?? I like how it has a cleansing side and an exfoliating side. Exfoliating after I take off my makeup makes me feel like I got it all off properly. Thanks for sharing this!
