Valentine’s Day – Beauty Edition

I don’t know about you but I’m using Valentine’s Day as the perfect excuse to pamper myself. Whether it’s for your special someone, a night out with the girls or just because we all deserve a treat every now and then. My base makeup is likely to be the same but here’s my perfect Valentine’s beauty essentials that I’ll be using to get ready for my Valentine’s Day date night!

Elegant Touch Nails

I love having long nails! Sometimes my own nails are great after weeks of OPI Nail Envy nail strengthener and OPI Avoplex cuticle oil and are finally at a reasonable enough length to go and get a manicure and some gel polish. When they aren’t playing ball though I love to use Elegant Touch nails! I’ve got a selection of four that I think are the perfect Valentine’s themed nails, some more natural and some more out there, I haven’t 100% decided which ones I’m going to wear but knowing me I’ll probably go for the gorgeous pink glittery ones! I personally don’t like using nail glue as my nails are so weak naturally and I think the nail glue makes them worse but Elegant Touch make awesome gelly tabs to stick on to the nail and I find they last just as long.

Lips

Lips are obviously a serious feature in relation to Valentine’s Day. Whether you want a bold lip to draw attention or a subtle shimmer. I’ve got a selection of lip products that I’m trying to decide between. For a bolder lip I’m trying to decide between NYX  soft matte lip cream in the shade Prague, it’s a gorgeous cool toned purpley pink or Colourpop ultra matte lip in the shade Bumble. Bumble is a warm toned pinky brown colour. If I feel like a more subtle look on the night I’m leaning towards my Benefit Dandelion gloss. It’s a gorgeous nude gloss with a little bit of shimmer and I think it really makes your lips look super plumped and kissable! I love Benefit glosses because they’re not super sticky like most glosses are. I like to wear my Mac Pro Longwear liner in the shade ‘In Anticipation’ under the Benefit gloss if I want a more pinky lip, the liner is a pinky rose shade and with the nude gloss over the top I think they’re a perfect combo.

NYX Strobe of Genuis palette 

This is one of my favourite palettes, I love a really obvious highlight and this palette is super pigmented and super good value! It has seven different shades, a colour for every situation! When I really want my highlight to stand out I use my Revlon Photoready Insta-Fix highlighting stick in the shade 210 Gold Light and then the strobe of genuis palette over the top. The combination of cream and powder make my highlight last for hours!

Kiko Milano Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow

This is such a handy product! Similar to the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks but at a fraction of the price and in plenty of different shades these are a must have in your makeup collection. My favourite and the one I’m planning on wearing on Valentine’s is the shade 07 Golden Beige, it is a gorgeous golden shimmer. It’s super quick to put on and lasts for hours. A few coats of my Lancôme Hypnose mascara and my eyes are set to go!
